Gremio had a mixed first semester in 2023 marked by achievements and challenges. The club won the Campeonato Gaúcho title and qualified for the Copa do Brasil, but faced difficulties in the Sul-Americana and the Campeonato Brasileiro. The new board invested nearly R$ 100 million in six signings, seeking a reformulation for the future. Among the new players, only Weverton stood out, becoming the undisputed starter and attracting the attention of the Brazilian national team. The goalkeeper made 32 appearances, conceded 30 goals, and had 14 games without conceding. Other signings, such as Enamorado and Leo Pérez, showed potential but are still under evaluation.
